{"id":22259,"date":"2026-04-15T07:51:42","date_gmt":"2026-04-15T07:51:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/greendot.com.cy\/?p=22259"},"modified":"2026-04-15T07:55:22","modified_gmt":"2026-04-15T07:55:22","slug":"temu-partners-with-cyprus-extended-producer-responsibility-organizations-to-support-seller-compliance-obligations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/greendot.com.cy\/en\/2026\/04\/15\/temu-partners-with-cyprus-extended-producer-responsibility-organizations-to-support-seller-compliance-obligations\/","title":{"rendered":"Temu Partners with Cyprus Extended Producer Responsibility Organizations to Support Seller Compliance Obligations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Temu has signed agreements with <a href=\"https:\/\/greendot.com.cy\/en\/\">Green Dot Cyprus<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/afiscyprus.com.cy\/\">AFIS Cyprus<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.weeecyprus.com.cy\/en\">WEEE Cyprus<\/a> to help sellers meet their Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) obligations in Cyprus.<\/p>\n<p>The agreements establish a process enabling sellers on Temu to understand and comply with their EPR requirements for packaging, batteries and electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) in Cyprus and across the European Union.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe cooperation between Temu and Cyprus\u2019 collective systems demonstrates how Extended Producer Responsibility requirements can be applied in the digital marketplace,\u201d said Ms. Ioanna Constantinidou of the Cyprus Department of Environment. \u201cAs an online platform falling within the scope of the EU Regulation on packaging and packaging waste, Temu enables Cypriot consumers to enter into distance contracts with sellers (producers) operating through the platform.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Green Dot Cyprus manages packaging waste recycling, AFIS Cyprus covers batteries, and WEEE Cyprus handles electrical and electronic equipment. Temu has been establishing partnerships with Producer Responsibility Organisations (PROs) across the European Union, and has signed agreements with more than 30 licensed PROs covering packaging, batteries and waste from electrical and electronic equipment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur collaboration with Temu demonstrates how Extended Producer Responsibility requirements can be implemented within the digital marketplace,\u201d said Mr. Marios Vrachimis, General Manager of Green Dot Cyprus. \u201cBy partnering with international platforms, we contribute to the integration of products sold online into Cyprus\u2019 established recycling systems.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>These partnerships allow sellers on Temu to meet their EPR obligations while supporting local collection and recycling systems throughout Europe. The Local Seller Program, through which Temu operates in more than 90 markets, was introduced in Cyprus in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis collaboration with collective systems in Cyprus enables sellers on Temu to more easily fulfil their local producer responsibility obligations,\u201d said a Temu spokesperson. \u201cOur goal is to provide practical guidance and resources that help sellers comply with
